Peter M. Macy
Peter M. Macy, Ed.M., M.T.S. and J.D., is Executive Director of Guardian Community Trust, Inc. (Community Trust). In addition to Community Trust, Peter is a founding member of Massachusetts Guardianship Policy Institute, which has been a hub for ideas and public events in support of public guardianship in Massachusetts, including four colloquia and three statewide conferences addressing both policy and practice of guardianship. Prior to joining Community Trust, Peter worked in private practice as an elder law attorney, specializing in trust law and guardianship practice, and he remains a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Peter is a graduate of Boston College Law School, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard Divinity School, and the University of Puget Sound.

Danielle L. Howard
Danielle is the Director of Trustee Operations at Guardian Community Trust (“GCT”). She has over 15 years of experience in the field of special needs trust administration. She began her career employed as a paralegal for an elder law attorney in Boston who specialized their practice in Medicaid planning, guardianships and SNT’s. Danielle communicates with elder law attorneys, beneficiaries, and their families on how pooled trusts work from beginning to end. Danielle also has extensive knowledge on how SNT’s can best serve disabled persons when various public benefits programs come into play. Danielle served on the Board of Managers for Public Guardian Services in Braintree from July 2019 – September 2023 and continues to support ongoing reform for guardianship and conservatorship matters across Massachusetts. Danielle earned her B.S. from Suffolk University majoring in government with a minor in history.

Jim Murray joined Guardian Community Trust in September, 2019 as the Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Community Trust, Mr. Murray served as the Executive Vice President of Finance at Toth+Co., a full service advertising agency located in Concord, MA.Mr. Murray earned his undergraduate degree in Business Management at Northern Vermont University – Johnson. He lives in Londonderry, NH with his wife and 2 daughters.

Mariana Sousa serves as the Communications Manager for Guardian Community Trust, where she leads storytelling, public-facing communications, and content strategy across the organization’s initiatives. She brings over a decade of experience in content development, brand strategy, and advertising, with a background spanning healthcare, public service, and mission-driven organizations. At Guardian Community Trust, Mariana translates complex guardianship work into clear, human-centered communication that builds understanding, transparency, and trust.

Janice Goldstein, PhD, MBA
Janice Goldstein, PhD, MBA, is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience in human services and management. Her background includes work in both clinical and administrative settings.
At Guardian Community Trust, she serves as Clinical Supervisor, advising on matters related to both pooled and individual trusts and supporting staff on key issues affecting operations and programming. She also directly supervises the social workers who serve clients benefiting from the trust program.

Janice Hickey, LSW
Janice is a Clinical Relationship Coordinator who joined Guardian Community Trust in December 2025. She began her career in social work at Mystic Valley Elder Services, and her experience also includes hospital, brain injury rehabilitation, home care, and skilled nursing settings, where she served as a Case Manager and Director of Social Services.
Janice is a passionate advocate for helping clients achieve the highest possible quality of life with dignity and compassion. She graduated from Salem State College with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. She has two grown children and enjoys hiking, biking, and golfing with her husband.

Claire Levey has been with Guardian Community Trust since January 2015. Claire, a native of England, Attended College in Edinburgh before serving with the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London and overseas for 20 years.Ms. Levey moved to the United States in 2000. Prior to joining Community Trust, Claire worked as an Accounting Assistant and Legal Assistant.

Dawn Marie Harris
Dawn Marie Harris has been with Guardian Community Trust since 2016. Mrs. Harris works directly with the Director of Finance and the Director of Trustee Services in an administrative capacity. Dawn values working closely with our beneficiaries and their families and finds it rewarding to know that the team at GCT can help them during difficult times. Dawn has worked for Estate Planning Attorneys for over 25 years in the Merrimack Valley in Massachusetts. She graduated from Castle Junior College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, and is the fifth generation owner of her family’s house in South Lawrence, where she has lived her whole life. Dawn is a loving mother and enjoys spending time with her family.

Donna Nardelli has been with GCT since April, 2019. Ms. Nardelli enjoys working with the beneficiaries and their families and making sure that their needs are met, while providing them with the best service possible.Donna earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Science from Castle Junior College. She joined Community Trust with 25 years of experience working as an office manager and processing accounts payable and accounts receivable for various mental health facilities throughout the State of Massachusetts. During her time off, Donna loves spending time with friends and family and, of course, her beloved dog, Rylee.

Alejandra Garcia
Alejandra Garcia is the Finance and Trust Administration Assistant at Guardian Community Trust, where she has supported trust administration since joining the organization in June 2023. In her role, Alejandra works closely with families and beneficiaries, helping them understand how to use trust resources to best support their loved ones’ needs.She brings several years of administrative experience, including four years as an office manager and additional roles in administrative support. Alejandra completed three years of coursework at Fitchburg State University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and reading.

Debbie is a CRC at GCT. Debbie earned a bachelor’s degree from Framingham State University, concentrating in health and human services. Debbie started her career in social work as a case manager for Tri Valley Elder Services. Debbie has held social work positions in the community setting, acute care hospital setting and long term care. Debbie is passionate about the elder population and advocating for the needs of others. In her spare time she is a mother of 4, enjoys the outdoors and line dancing.
